On the banks of the River Erne, in the heart of Enniskillen, Ireland, a brand-new passive house campus is pushing the boundaries of sustainable design and energy efficient buildings
The newly completed Erne Campus, part of South West College, is both the largest building and the first educational building in the world to achieve Passivehouse Premium certification. It is also one of the few buildings to achieve both Passivehouse Premium and BREEAM Outstanding accreditations.

Winner of 2022 Architectural Association of Ireland (AAI) Awards
“Another driver of design detail was the imperative to minimise impact on the historic fabric. The steel structure of the library is self-supporting and lightly tied back to the masonry walls.”
"A hallmark of Mullarkey Pedersen Architects is the degree to which they sensitively attuned to the age, character and specific needs of any building with which the firm is engaged. Along with his team, Karl is an excellent and most effective communicator with whom it is always a privilege to work. He is extremely approachable and accessible. Mullarkey Pedersen Architects is a firm of excellence and is renowned for outstanding professionalism." Very Rev'd William W Morton, Dean of Derry & Rector of Templemore
"As well as addressing the damp problem, and adding an apse, a spire and sacristy, it was our wish to preserve the original character of the building while enhancing it with the best of modern design and construction. We are delighted with the end product. We have an elegant and uplifting space for worship and prayer. Parishioners enjoy the interior space with its warm, serene and spiritual atmosphere, complemented by the beautiful exterior environment. Visitors are in awe of this Killybegs jewel." Fr Colm Ó Gallchóir, Parish Priest, St.Mary's Church of the Visitation, Killybegs, Co.Donegal
